# Cantomore Free Voice Pack Licence 1.0

This licence applies only when a Cantomore `voice-manifest.json` identifies
`CANTOMORE-FREE-VOICE-1.0` as its licence. It does not apply to personal or
premium voices, repository source code, Font Software, or another voice pack.

## 1. Free permission

Nova Cultural Limited grants an individual, recognised educational body,
registered non-profit or community group a non-exclusive, non-transferable,
royalty-free licence to use the identified voice package in a personal,
educational, cultural-preservation, public-interest or other non-commercial
project.

The licensee may make the technical copies reasonably required to integrate the
package into that project, serve it to the project's end users, and use the
resulting synthetic speech in that project. A clearly visible acknowledgement
must be retained: `Powered by Cantomore 廣多啲` and, where links are supported,
link to `https://speech.cantomore.com/`.

## 2. Uses not granted

Without separate written permission, the licensee must not:

- sell, rent, sublicense, mirror or offer the package as a standalone download;
- extract, reconstruct or republish its recordings, speaker profile, index,
  Opus packets or voice bank;
- use it to train, fine-tune, evaluate or seed another voice, TTS, speech or AI
  model or dataset;
- provide a competing hosted TTS, voice-conversion or voice-download service;
- remove or alter its manifest, licence, copyright notice, build fingerprint or
  third-party notices;
- use the package commercially, including paid products, client work,
  advertising-supported services or revenue-generating integrations;
- claim that synthetic speech is an authentic recording of a real person, or
  use it for deception, impersonation, fraud or unlawful content; or
- use Cantomore or Nova Cultural Limited branding except for the required
  acknowledgement, without separate brand permission.

This licence does not grant ownership of the voice package. It does not limit
rights in the licensee's own input text. No ownership claim is made here about
an output where applicable law does not recognise one.

## 3. Synthetic-voice disclosure

Where a reasonable listener could mistake generated speech for a real person's
authentic statement, the licensee must clearly disclose that the audio is
synthetic or AI-generated. Machine-readable provenance included by Cantomore
must not be removed.

## 4. Termination and availability

The licence terminates automatically on material breach. On termination the
licensee must stop using and distributing the package and delete controlled
copies, without affecting mandatory legal exceptions. Nova Cultural Limited
may stop hosting a package, but hosting availability and licence permission are
separate matters.

## 5. Disclaimer and liability

The package is supplied “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nova
Cultural Limited disclaims implied warranties and liability for indirect,
special or consequential loss. Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally
be excluded. The licensee remains responsible for its text, context, audience
and use of generated speech.

This licence is governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative
Region. Questions and requests for commercial permission should be made through
the contact channel published at `speech.cantomore.com`.
